Giant Food Kicks Off Annual Hunger Action Month

Hunger Alleviation at the Heart of September Events across Mid-Atlantic

Landover, Md. (August 28, 2014) – In honor of Hunger Action Month, Giant Food of Landover, Md. is proud to announce several initiatives in September to combat hunger in communities across Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. During this month-long campaign, Giant-sponsored food drives and hunger awareness initiatives will support regional Feeding America food banks including the Capital Area Food Bank, Maryland Food Bank, Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, Fredericksburg Area Food Bank, and Food Bank of Delaware.

Healthy Ideas boxes with select Own Brand products will be available for purchase in all 169 neighborhood Giant locations for $10. All Hunger Action Month Boxes will be donated to Feeding America food bank partners. At the register, customers may also make a $1 donation to their local food bank and receive a free coupon book.
