Giant Food and Manna Food Center Host Weekend Food Drive
Contributions to Help Montgomery County Community Members in Need
Giant Food of Landover, Md. is teaming with Manna Food Center to support the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service by holding “Help the Hungry” food drives at all 28 Montgomery County neighborhood Giant locations to fight hunger and feed hope in the community.
The first 25 customers to donate at each location will receive a free, reusable Giant bag. Customers and community members are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items. Most needed items include canned meats, canned tuna, beans, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, 100 percent fruit juice, brown rice, rolled oats, pasta, macaroni and cheese, soups, and cereal.
Giant Food is committed to alleviating hunger in the communities it serves and has a long history of raising awareness about hunger and supporting local food banks, including the Manna Food Center.
