Giant Food Announces Ca$h for Causes
Providing community non-profits a SIMPLE SOLUTION TO COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING®
Landover, Md. (November 12, 2013) – The holiday season brings times of togetherness with family and friends; it also ushers in a spirit of charity and community. Giant Food of Landover, Md. continues the ongoing commitment to being a better neighbor, with today’s announcement of Ca$h for Causes®, a unique fund raising program benefiting the region’s non-profit community.
Ca$h for Causes is an easy way for organizations to complete the holiday quest for that perfect gift that everyone can use. With Thanksgiving and the holiday season just around the corner, gift cards are a direct and fun way for non-profits to raise critical funds. Non-profits can purchase Giant Gift Cards at a 5% discount ($500 minimum purchase required) and make the cards available for friends and supporters to purchase at face value. The difference between the discounted purchase price and the full face value equals proceeds for the non-profit organization.
“Ca$h for Causes continues our commitment as the Nation’s Capital Grocer to give back to those who seek to improve their community,” said Jamie Miller, manager, public and community relations, Giant Food of Landover, Md. “Seventy-seven years ago, when the Cohen and Lehrman families collaborated to open the very first supermarket in our nation’s capital, the public was at the forefront of their minds. We’ve inherited a priceless legacy, which we’re privileged to build upon each and every day.”
Giant Food associates are proud to support the community, nonprofit organizations, and diverse initiatives across Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and the District of Columbia. Giving back and supporting the community is a cornerstone of Giant’s operation.
Organizations must be registered 501c3 non-profits to participate. To learn more about the program please visit: http://www.giantfood.com/c4c
