Giant Food Partners with P&G to Bring Comfort and Joy to All this Holiday Season December Campaign Supports Local Food Banks with Donations of Personal Care Items

Landover, Md. (December 10, 2015) –Giant Food of Landover is proud to partner with P&G for a month-long initiative encouraging shoppers to support local food banks and bring comfort and joy to all by purchasing promotional P&G personal care and household products.

Throughout the month of December, Giant encourages customers to purchase two P&G trial size products and to give one of the products to a family in need. Food banks cite the need for personal care items including toothpaste, tooth brushes, razors, deodorants, toilet paper, and other toiletries, which are donated less frequently than standard non-perishable food items. P&G items for this promotion will be priced at $0.99, making it easy and affordable for customers to buy two and donate one.

“Personal care and household items are a top request from our food bank partners, and Giant is proud to work with P&G to help address this considerable unmet need for our fellow community members,” said Jamie Miller, Public &Community Relations Manager, Giant Food of Landover, Md. “As part of our Better Neighbor promise, we look forward to Giant customers participating in this promotion and supporting their local community during this holiday season.”

Donated products can be deposited in P&G Comfort and Joy Collection boxes, which are located in 168 participating Giant stores. In connection with this promotion, Giant and P&G will also donate $5,000 to both the Capital Area Food Bank and the Maryland Food Bank.
