Giant Food Appoints New Director of Pharmacy Operations
Gayle Shields Joins Neighborhood Grocer to Lead Pharmacy Initiatives
Landover, Md. (August 31, 2012) – Giant Food of Landover, Md. announced today that Gayle Shields has joined the company to serve as Director of Pharmacy Operations. Shields will work closely with Giant leadership team to develop a proactive operational approach for pharmacy operations.

With 24 years of pharmacy experience and five years of experience in a director position, we know Gayle is a great fit for this job and for our team.”
Within her role, Shields will collaborate with Giant’s regional pharmacy managers to deliver a superior customer service experience and ensure that programs are implemented consistently across all stores. In addition to her previous role as Director of Pharmacy Operations for Albertson’s/Save Mart, Shields comes to Giant with nearly 25 years of pharmacy operations experience. Her passion for pharmaceuticals began during her time at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and continued on as she earned an MBA from the University of South Africa.
