grilled mango & banana skewers with honey cinnamon

makes: 6 servings, 1 cup each


  • 4 bananas cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 3 mangos, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Cooking oil spray


  1. If using wooden skewers, soak in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning while grilling.
  2. Clean grill and preheat to medium. Pour 1 cup of water (separate from water used to soak wooden skewers) into a large bowl and add lemon juice.
  3. Add banana and mango to water and soak for 20 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, combine honey and cinnamon.
  5. Thread fruit onto skewers. Coat with honey-cinnamon mixture and spray with cooking oil to prevent fruit from sticking to the grill.
  6. Grill for 5-10 minutes until warm, tuning regularly. Do not over cook or fruit will become too soft.
