Baking Instructions: 1. Set oven to 350 degrees F. Coat the bottom of the pan with non-stick cooking spray or shortening and a flour dusting. For cupcakes, use paper baking cups. 2. Pink Cake Batter: 2/3 cup water; 1/4 cup oil; 2 eggs. In a medium mixing bowl, add pink cake mix, eggs, oil, and water. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Set aside. 3. Blue Cake Batter: 1/3 cup water; 2 tbsp oil; 2 egg whites. In a separate medium mixing bowl, add blue cake mix, egg whites, oil, and water. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Set aside. 4. Purple Cake: Put about 1/2 of the Pink cake batter into a small bowl, add a small amount of Blue batter, and mix to make Purple. Start with a small amount, as blue is very strong. Increase blue as needed to make the desired purple. 5. Assembly For cupcakes, scoop a teaspoon of batter per baking cup, alternating pink, blue, purple until 3/4 of the way full. For other pan sizes, scoop 1/4 cup of the batter into the pan, alternating pink, blue, and purple. 6. Bake at 350 degrees F for 34 minutes (a) for 8-inch rounds or 19 minutes for cupcakes. When a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, the cake is done. Cool 10-15 minutes before removing from pan(s). Cook the cake completely before frosting.
