A premium blend of Parmesan and locatelli Auricchio’s Sunday Blend dates back to the early 1900’s when a majority of Italian immigrants from Naples and Southern Italy came to the United States to begin new lives. They brought along their local recipes and traditions from the Old Country, and grated cheese was a key ingredient. Sunday became the day when friends and family got together. Everyone was in the kitchen preparing Sunday Sauce for the macaroni, meatballs, and lasagna. Times were tough back then so they often blended Parmesan. Cheese with Pecorino Romano to save some money, but also discovered that this blend created a truly unique and delicious flavor! Aurrichio Sunday blend, a truly Italian-American creation.
