How to Use Papa's Flavored Wood Chips: Charcoal and Wood Grills and Smokers: Soak Papa's Flavored Wood Chips in water for at least 30 minutes for the best smoking results. When your coals or wood chunks begin turning white hot, drain the water from your wood chips and spread the wet chips over your coals. They will begin smoking quickly. Papa recommends keeping a spray bottle of water close by if the chips flame up. lf this happens spray the chips with water. Adding more soaked and drained chips every 15 minutes or so will add even more flavor to your food. Gas and Electric Grills and Smokers: Soak Papa's Flavored Wood Chips in water for at least 30 minutes for the best smoking results. Once the grill has heated to proper cooking temperature, drain the water from the chips and follow directions of your grill to use the smoking box. If there is no smoking box, place drained chips in a metal device designed to hold smoking chips. A metal can or pie pan will suffice if you do not have a holder manufactured to hold your smoking chips. Close the lid on your smoker for best smoking results.
