Malloreddus is our specialty pasta enhanced with saffron which gives it a splash of yellow-orange color and hint of earthy flavor. This style originates from Sardinia, an island off the Southern coast of Italy known for its abundance of saffron which wa used to color pale pasta to make the pasta appear richer with egg. The common way to serve Malloreddus in Sardinia is with a creamy sauce made with local sheep's milk cheese, fresh mint and pecorino. Traditional Italian techniques meet the finest American grains to make Sfoglini Pasta. Slow air dried at low temperatures to preserve flavor and nutrition. Vegan & Non-GMO. Cooking instructions: Cook time: 9-10 minutes. In a large pot, heat four quarts of salted water and bring to a boil. Add the pasta and stir. Cook for nine to ten minutes, stirring occasionally and then strain. Reserve two to three tablespoons of pasta water to add to your sauce.
